Compared to steel, stainless steel or copper, aluminium is a real lightweight. In the automotive sector, for example, aluminium in the form of screws, nuts, rivets, bolts or complex cold-formed parts helps to increase range by reducing energy consumption thanks to its low weight.
Depending on the alloy, aluminium can be easily formed by heat treatment or cold forming and adapted to various requirements. What is surprising is that despite its low weight, aluminium offers high strength and ductility – while remaining flexible. Depending on the type of alloy, these properties can be exploited even further.
Another special advantage that saves time and money: aluminium does not require any additional surface protection and is naturally weather-resistant, corrosion-free and durable.
